My Pugs got out this morning! I was in my chair, trying to wake up and the littlest pug named Bug came in from the backyard and was just acting a little odd. I asked her where her brother Hershey was. We went outside and didn't see him, so I checked through the house and didn't find him there either. There are a couple of places in the yard where I can't readily see them, and as I went back out I saw that the gate was open. I panicked! It was very windy this morning, so the gate must have blown open. I ran out to the front and the little kid across the street said he saw the dog run across the street. The "street" happens to be a very busy road, which at 7:45 this morning was bumper to bumper with cars in both directions. I jumped in my Jeep and forced my through the traffic to the other side of the road and drove up and down each street, asking kids and old folks along the way if they had seen a small black dog. None of them had. After I went up and down all of the streets on that side, I crossed back over to my side. I went one block north of my street and starting going up and down the streets, looking through yards to hopefully spot Hershey. I noticed a lady in a silver Jeep, but thought she was dropping her kids at the bus stop. Finally, when I passed her the third time, I flagged her down. She asked if I had a small black dog, and I said I was looking for a small black dog. At that moment, I saw Hershey's head pop up from her passenger seat. She asked if I was David, and told me she had just left voicemail for me. I was a blubbering idiot by then, and I am not sure what I said after that. She said she had seen two Pugs walking down the sidewalk on the busy road, and she was actually driving around looking for the second one, Bug. I didn't even know at that point that Bug had been out of the yard and came back on her own. I do know I thanked her. I have her phone number, and I am going to call and thank her again for being a hero, and a friend to animals everywhere!

OMG, Drum!!! I'm sooo happy they were found safe and sound.
Thanks to Florida Power, Brighthouse and various tree trimming companies, I've gone through exactly what you have gone through more than once. It's the worst feeling in the world.
Now, my one dogs is too old and the other is well, too stupid (Lulu, you know it's true...) to go to far if the gate is open.
Give them puppies a big kiss for me...
DAMN KIDS! They hit that age where they think they know everything and want to explore the world!
Did Hershey run out of Parliaments and Gin again? He sounds like he had a mood- he needs rehab!
Signed: You know who!
