You may have noticed that I added a countdown to my graduation on May 17. I have mentioned before that this is the culmination of my college career, which has lasted an astounding 25 years! The end is in sight! I took what will be my last exam today. It was actually a DANTES exam, which is bsaically a college-level equivalency exam on what I know about computers and computer software. The exam counts as one class. Since my major - Management Information Systems - requires me to take a software programming class, and since I have been working in software development for the last 14 years of my life, it made more sense to pay $80 to take the exam than it did to pay $965 to sit through a class that is going to teach me absolutely nothing. Now let me tell you, the exam was a lot harder than I expected it to be. A lot of basic computer questions that I hadn't given any thought to in quite some time. I was actually concerned that I might not pass. When I finally did hit that End Exam button, I didn't know what to expect. I passed. It really is a pass/fail situation, so my score doesn't actually matter. However, if I had taken the prep exam that is offered, I probably would have made a score that I could have been a little more proud of. But alas, all that matters is that I passed! Now all that is left is two actual classes that start in March, and my thesis. My thesis should be done by the end of next week. Home stretch. I never knew it would feel this good!!!
